One Year in the Books

Today some babies had their 1 year check-up at the doctor's office. We were concerned that Katie wouldn't be able to get her shots as she has been running a fever for the last couple of days. After all the babies had the thermometer shoved into their armpits they all were good to go for their vaccines. They all got measured up and weighed before the doctor came in to do the actual checkup. Katie is still the biggest and is now also the tallest. She now weighs 23 lbs 9oz (80%), is 30" long (75%) and her head in 18 and a fourth inches (85%). She was her silly self during her checkup and was playing with the ear light when the doctor showed it to her. Seamus is 29.5" long (50%), 20 lbs 6oz (15%) and his cranium is 18.5" around (70%). Seamus was a bit whiny after he was laid down, I think he remembered what happened last time...SHOTS! Our doctor gave them all a cup to play with and that made him happier. Helena is still our wee petite little girl. She weighed in at 18 lbs 4 oz (10%), 28.5" long (10%) and her bean was 17.5 inches around (25%). Helena was very smiley at the doctor and also had fun playing with her cup. I think it may have been a urine sample cup, is that gross? The all checked out A Okay, the doctor was quite pleased at the progress they are making physically and developmentally. Its days like these that remind me how blessed Mary and I are with how well our children continue to do. Good feelings lasted until they were all turned into human pin cushions. A shot in each arm and one in the leg. The first year with the babies is officially past now, and I am incredibly proud of Katie, Seamus and Helena. I love you guys!
